Po|ly|qui|nan [Kunstw. aus ↑ poly-, lat. quini = je fünf u. ↑ -an (1)], das; -s, -e: Bez. für gesättigte, aus ortho- oder ortho- u. peri-kondensierten Fünfringen bestehende polycycl. Verb. (Cyclopentanoide), z. B. Dodecahedran. Vielen Naturstoffen liegt ein Triquinangerüst zugrunde.
